We’re into local. We’re into local in the way the tote bag slinging, Whole Foods purchasing crowd is into heirloom tomatoes from the farm next door, and we’re also into local in the way that a physicist is into gravity: it’s just interesting.
That’s why we’re interested in products that are locally-made. It’s also why we care about communities. When people design, make, and purchase local products, they support the kind of consumerism that reduces carbon footprint, creates ties between neighbors, and reflects just a little of the diversity in this great big world.
So this is where you’ll find a little bit about what local means to us. We may not be in Williamstown for long, but it’s where home is right now. The Berkshires may be as familiar as blueberry cobbler on a summer night or as strange as the Somebody That I Used To Know music video, but we’d love to share it with you for the next short while. And then we’ll be sharing a new place.
But it’s not all about us. Let us know where you are. Fold your community into ours. Or keep them separate and come here to check out something new. There are no rules.
After all, we’re all just hanging out, trying to think original things, love the people that are kind to us, and observe and use things that are cool and little bit meaningful. You are what you eat. You are what you say. You are where you live. Nothing is the be-all-end-all, but like we said…let’s make place food for thought.
